As the saying goes, on the internet, less is more :-)
Where do I even begin? How about with the title of this blog.
My Calling
When I was a tween, I can’t remember exactly what age, I woke up in the dead of the night and had what felt like a spirit to spirit conversation with God. I mean literally, I felt like I could hear Him talking in my head!! (I think I just lost a few readers there)
I feel like I came out of that experience changed. I felt like I’d had my ‘Mary’ moment, when God had shared with me that my life had a purpose too big for me to understand, and it involved helping to change lives.
From that moment on, Mary’s response to the angel when she was told he would give birth to Jesus became my life’s spiritual motto.
” I am the Lord’s servant. May it be to me, according to your word”
I’m far from perfect.. but whatever He wants to do with me He can. I am his handmaiden.
The Power of Praise.
As for the song, the mighty women of the bible often led by leading in worship. Martha’s victory song after crossing the red sea, the Judge Deborah before battle. The women of Israel singing psalms of David’s victories. There is great power in worship to change circumstances, and I try to remember that.
My Bio
I am actually a permanent resident in the US, originally from the island paradise of Barbados in the eastern Caribbean. I’m a high school teacher in my early thirties, living in the US because of my marriage to a wonderful American man and a connection to Arizona teenagers that I can’t break.
That’s probably about as much as I can share withoust getting my identity stolen.. lol..
See you on the blogs.
His Handmaiden

Thank you for this beautiful and gentle blog which resonates deeply with my feelings about the world situation and life. I, too, am His handmaiden, and, to you, a sister teacher in New Mexico teaching choral music to middle schoolers.
Hope you don’t mind me being so blunt but do you belong to the Latter Day Saints movement?
Nah.. lol
Grew up pentecostal, kind of drifted into non denominational while I was at home in in the islands, and now go to a Southern Baptist church here in AZ
Rock solid in the word… why?
I’m wondering if I should take that as a complement.. They’re kind of known for being very ummm.. mellow and loving.
I do apologise. It was a stab in the dark. I’m not really up on conservative politics about Mormon votes and all that.
We have a Mormon church in town but Jehovah’s Witnesses are far more active as far as dr-dr cold calls…and no I’m not JW.
I go to a General Baptist church but there’s a lot of flow of people between evangelical churches in my area.
Well thank you for stopping by to read and comment, and do come again!
You inspired my post today
I was also very impressed with your flavor of wisdom in one particular note about your friendships and sharing the gospel. I even commented on it! Haha. My college minister always says, “You may be the only Bible someone ever reads.” - i commend you for your walk and your example to your community.
Hi webmaster!
Hi webmaster!
Nice blog. Intelligent and reasoned. May I quote from your article posted on the Huckabee Alliance blog about GOP History made in South Carolina in a comment on Townhall.com?
Jarrod,
Feel free to quote, but I didn’t actually write that one. A fellow Huck supporter asked me to post it on his behalf. The link to the original article is listed at the beginning of the Alliance post.
Thank you for your kind words about the blog
